Does my text leave the browser?
Anonymization takes place locally in the browser. Anything you subsequently paste into other services is processed under their terms.
Do I need Gemini Nano?
No. Chrome’s local AI is an optional additional detection layer. Availability depends on Chrome and your device.
Can Chrome replace the Mac app?
The extension is designed for text in the browser. The Mac app supports additional workflows, including image editing, a system-wide shortcut and optional restoration.
